what do you all think of this ?

Alabama Chicken Lady ; Thank you, you are too kind

You're lucky that you have a finished coop, enjoy it hon

The hubby part, join the club lol. Either husbands are into it and wives don't like it or wives are into it and husbands don't agree with it and I envy the couple who enjoy the same hobbies

My neighbors don't have any chickens or ducks, I'm the only one. No one near me that I know have chickens/ducks. My brother use too, I got him hooked on it
big_smile.png
but he gave me 3 of his and he'll be re-doing the coop in the spring but I can't get ideas from him, men !

I'm open for everything. Just like (almost) everyone here, I learn new things everyday and I enjoy that. I don't know all the answers to it all, I don't think no one really does. Because everybody's experiences, ideas, land, coops, birds, budget and so on are different, all can't be the same and that is why I think BYC is great because we get to share ideas, not critisize them. I appriciate everyone who has taking their time to respond to me, I am just greatful. And thank you Lady from Alabama who loves chicken

I will definately post pictures of my progress

Newbie in Screamer Al, :

Hey Momma Chic. I will post as soon as admin allows. I am a new member, and am not allowed to post yet. I will check with them.

When I was a newbie, I didn't know how to post but thanks to Ninfy-Chiken and another lady from BYC helped me figure it out. You are allowed to post. How you've found this category, on your right hand side is a "Post new topic" towards the top, not all the way top. And as for your pictures, go to "my page " and in the middle top page it will say "This is your blog. Click here to edit - Add new page - Delete this page" and you go on from there. Hope that helps.

To bad your not closer to Arkansas. I found this BYC thread in the Auction section on the bottom of the home page.

This man makes some pretty nice coops. Take a look .... maybe you and your hubby could do something like this. Maybe you could do 2-3 of them in your price range.

Just a thought though.

It reminds me of the house from the movie "Up"... you just need some balloons for the top!!!

That playhouse would make an awesome coop! I say go for it. If I had the money, I'd get one, too! I keep a notebook where I sketch blueprints for coops, waterers, feeders, etc. I have an old cabover camper in the backyard that I am thinking of turning into a mobile hatchery to bring to schools to teach kids. I have more ideas than I have money to fund!

HHandbasket and I are both hooked on chickeneering. We have a small flock of 7, and just got our first "real" incubator to hatch more. We are going to a poultry show in Stockton, Ca at the end of the month to pic brains, and maybe get some eggs!

Please do post pics when you get the playhouse converted into the new coop!

I just wrote him an e-mail, cause his post says anywhere, so let's see that anywhere might includes NJ

You know, even if he can't deliver, I might do this myself, maybe having 2 of them for my birds. I found 8" caster wheels online, and I don't like to shop online very much, so I called them and they did have a location 13 miles away from our house, you know what that means, I picked my son at 3:30 from school went over there. I fell in love with that place. I got 2 8" caster wheels for $30.00 and thinking of coverting my small chicken coop (now it's inside of their run) and make a small fenced run and just like a wheelbarrow, wheel it out. My broody mom and her chic can stay there when the weather is good, when bad, I can wheel them back in the garage. Or later, I can use it for breeding, seperation for whatever reason, and this, the one you showed me, would be the answers to my prayers, thank you Alabama Chicken Lady, and thank you all

I did order one for now, if it doesn't turn out to be a coop after all, I could use it as a playhouse for my boys. I also have a notebook too, I do sketches, ideas and list of names of my flock

I'm sure you'll be able to make a great mobile hatchery. How thoughful and kind of you. Good luck with your incurbator. When all is said and done, I think that's my next step "incrubator

MamaChick21.... you are so very welcome!! Like I said before, I'm still looking and reading everything about chickens. I can't ge enough of this website. I learn something new everyday here. When I saw those coops, I instantly thought of you. If he can't do NewJersy, maybe he can send you the blueprints for a small fee.

With his design, on wheels, you could use your riding mower to pull it around to different locations in your yard.

Hope it all turns out great for you.

I really appriciate it, you don't know what this means to me and my family (especially my hubby
wink.png
) It could be 2 of those, and 1 can have the coop close to the floor because of the ducks and some chickens that prefer lower level and run being 10 ft, 2 can be 20 ft and while I'm out there, I let them free range. They all stay in 1 part of the yard anyways. This is just great
