yeah my dad and my friend were in stitches. I was wading in the river at about 10pm trying to spot them with my torch. I almost caught one. I tried to catch about 15.

We call them crayfish up here. And eating them has never crossed my mind. Which is probably why I didn't put 2 and 2 together and realize they are the same thing as crawfish until not that long ago

Crawdad or crawdaddy, sorry ladies! lol I have plenty in the yard when we get a good rain, and the chickens love them. I found a couple big ones when I had my first chickens and threw them in the pen just to see what they'd do. I came back a few minutes later and there was one piece of a front claw left and a bunch of chickens asking "where's the rest?"

No Saltie’s where I live. Australia has them but not in Sydney or out west where I was. At most I was at risk of being chomped by a platypus
