WHAT DO YOU DO ABOUT DRIED POOP?

Does dried poop need to be cleaned from little chicks bottom? How do you do it?

I believe it does. I think it's called "pasting". I would run a search on here and see what you can find. I washed my chicks but with soap and water. Not what I had anticipated prior to getting chicks!

i just did this today! i just wet a paper towel, and gently tugged. probably not the best way, but they're all happy now.

it is called pasty butt. you have to keep it cleaned off or it may close over the vent and it can't go poo and it can kill the baby. you can soak their butt in warm water if it is bad and they will let you. I just wiped it off with a warm wash cloth. You can put a little bit of mineral oil on afterward to keep it from sticking. If you get it wet, put it under a warm light or gently blow dry it. The chick can't get chilled.

After washing put a little vaseline on butt to help prevent pasting.

Yes! get it off! It doesn't seem very drastic, but if it's not taken care of, the little chick will die
