What do you do for a living?

i work for a small company that does 'Special Education' Medicaid billing for the schools in NH and a few other states. i do the transportation aspect of the billing. so i'm 'special' since i'm the only one there that does that job full time. (i've trained others over the last year but no real takers for my position-too much of a complicated puzzle.)

I sell AVON products and Im also a housekeeper for a few elder and disabilities. Both are basically my own business. Doesn't pay much but It does help out on sides. I also am a housekeeper for one of the local daycares, part-time. $20 a day for housekieeping isn't alot but it puts food on the table.

I'm a bum.

I am a stay at home mom and housewife, but not because I am a bum, lazy, or want to live off the system(we make too much for that anyway).... We found out after filing our 2008 taxes this year that we are being punished for me working. Hubby is totally disabled and drawing a good amount of long term disability insurance(he made very good money before becoming disabled) plus he draws SSDI. Well after moving to KY from TN I went to work at a local builder supply making barely over 9000.00 per year for almost 2 yrs in which time after filing taxes for those years we always owed over 3000.00 in state and federal taxes(and I always had an extra 50.00 taken out of my check each pay period for federal, little good that did). Well after my first year staying home I filed our 2008 taxes and got back 619.00 for child tax credit(and we only got to claim one of our two children as the older one was 18 and in college at the time) from federal and only owed a little over 900.00 in state. Me working throws us into a higher tax bracket... This was the first time in over 20 yrs we got something back from federal. With hubbies career we always owed.
