What do you do for a living?

Hello,
I spent 20 years in the United States Navy and retired November 2009. The Navy got me as an RN and then sent me for my Master's degree as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. I work in an operating room and put folks to sleep and wake them up. I also do sedations for minor procedures and epidurals for laboring ladies. I really love my job, but it can be stressful. I love my chickens because when I sit with them, i can let my mind relax a little and just enjoy something that is so simple and beautiful. There is nothing better than coming home and seeing that herd of fluffy butts running to see me!

Yet another RN! I work per diem these days as a maternity nurse, occasionally pediatrics or gynecological surgery. I love my older ladies! Starting as a hospice volunteer in January, if I can handle the loss I'll probably switch specialties. NO desire to go back to labor & delivery-- loved the patients, loved doing labor support, but I do not possess the nerves of steel necessary to do OB every day.
