What do you do for a living?

I am an elementary physical education teacher and my husband currently works in the geriatric psych dept at our local hospital, but if we could ever work out affordable insurance he will go full time with his technology repair business.

I have worked at Wal~Mart for 14 years..... Wow, time flies! I have been a cashier; sales associate in lawn & garden, in sporting goods, and electronics, seasonal/crafts/stationary; Customer Service Manager 3 times; Customer Service associate in 2 different stores; worked on the Inventory team. Presently I am the Pet/paper/house hold chemical department manager for the second time. To say I am looking forward to retirement eagerly Is an understatement!

Wow! Good for you! I worked at walmart for a summer during undergrad. It was not an easy job at all! Dealing with the public could be quite draining. I give credit to anyone who has done a long time there!

I'm a writer. I live on the side of a mountain (low, rolling) and try to come up with stories people want to buy, read, etc.

I'm used to answering questions about it and this is how I usually answer:

  • Yes, I've been in magazines. Small regional parenting types and once for an eye care product magazine.
  • Yes, I blog. Each is behind.
  • Yes, I have a book published.
  • No, I'm not rich. Writer life is 'feast or famine'. I've been sick for the past two years which means it's mostly famine :-D
