this is the other side of it, its about 12" long I believe, I replaced the lean to, with the coop above .....can I just tarp off all around the back of there pen, and maybe inside across infront of the coop about a foot away from the coop, leaving a door way area where they could come out into the rest of the run to there pool???

and what do I do with these? I found them in the ground!!! wont use the coop....what do I do in winter incase this happens? Never had ducks before.

Mine all get rain coats and rubber boot..

No, lol All I do is add alot of straw in the inside areas but my ducks would way rather be out in the cold,wet,mud...

have you ever tried to find the skin on your ducks? they have nice down coats on, just give them a place draft free with some comfy bedding they will be fine, now mine are ruined but we don't live in Texas either it can get very cold here and ice and snow too, mine go into a house with shavings on the floor but the windows are open year round. and as for eggs you'll have to go out early to collect so they don't freeze, unless you have muscovies then they probably have stopped laying for the year mine have.

I am planning on putting straw into their night house (still under contstruction) that has a sand floor. If they seem cold, I will cover the open front panels. The rest are closed.

Is this not enough?

This is my run.. I will put some straw bales around the dog house for insulation.. There is enough room in the house for all the ducks to snuggle together at night.. However, I don't think they have actually used it yet...

I use plexiglass in the front (so I can see in and out lol) and put plastic around the rest, the top is already covered , and i put lots and lots of straw down. I do have blankets to cover the pea gravel up to the pond so it doesnt freeze to them when they are wet.. they are knida spoiled.. oh and tank heater in the pond, they swim all winter and it gets ccccooooooollld here !

I love your set up where did you get your heater?

I love your set up too! Better keep my diva, crested swede from seeing this, she may run away from home and try to find yours. As soon as our temp dropped to a WHOPPING 60 degrees she was at my back door
