So what do you do to keep the stress down for them when it gets hot out?

I took a plastic waterer and put it in the freezer overnight (every night when it is hot hot) and put it in the run in the morning as well as a little bit of the acid pack in there drinking water ever other day.
They really like pecking at the ice as well as the cold water.

Volume of water is important as well as cool water. For that reason I don't freeze the waterer but put a block of ice in it.
Foot baths with a block of ice in it.
Shade, shade, and more shade.
Elevated coops help
lots of ventilation.

Oh yes, I have the ice waterer as well as my regular nipple waterer with the acid pack in it to the electrolytes, but that is a good idea....

Liz9910 gave you great advice. One thing I do is wet down some of the dirt in their run - an area in deep shade - they scratch down into the cool dirt. I had a Buff Orp and a Black Australorp collapse with what I think was heat stroke last year - they were laying on their sides in the coop, eyes closed, breathing heavily. I took them inside and revived them with cool water and they snapped out of it. Don't think they would have had I not found them. Good luck to you!
