What do 'You' do to preserve eggs?

I’m having that same problem. Used have someone who would buy every egg laid, now they won’t even respond to a text and my mom now thinks she is allergic to eggs, and I never ate many eggs to start with. I’m told eggs last longer is you don’t wash them, that the bloom helps preserve them, and then of course refrigerating them.
Yep, eggs last longer if you don't wash them.. Refrigeration is an American thing. In Europe they are on the shelf.. Same problem with the response.. as if talking will kill ya.. by email. Used to eat eggs everyday, with bacon and fried tatters.. not much into them anymore. Went for a blood test for cholesterol, Doc's orders... Came back double good cholesterol, and wanted to know how I did it.. the latter. Allergic too store bought perhaps, 90 days old and full of anti-biotics and chemicals in feed. Did you know they chop up feathers and poo and refeed it to commercial flocks..?

If neighbors are close, they may buy them. I’ve donated to food pantries before when I had an abundance.
Do you live on a high traffic road? An egg stand at the end of the driveway may work.
P. S... haven't thought of the food bank, but ain't washing them. Only ever did that for one frail I had interest in for a lifetime.. pulled some of my feathers. Now she gets none..

What do 'You' do to preserve eggs?.. Very soon I'll have thirty eggs a day.. and that may be an underestimate as added to the flock. I freeze dry them raw to powder.. Takes days.. Fridge is already packed. Some use lime, some water glass, some freeze them in ice cube trays.. I have no more room.. Some are setting in buckets on the table. Times a coming you wish you had.. Tell me, I wish to learn.
Also.. I've pickled a few. Recipes are anywhere from straight vinegar too an assortment of amenities.. I would like shelf stable, though frowned upon by the Dept. of Agriculture and Powers that be... Tried the beet juice, sweet. Yuk! Tried one with some hot peppers, close. What is your favorite non-refrigerated pickled egg? They sell them in stores.. and I've eaten the last WWII egg in a Depression Era pub no longer in existence and lived.. That is what the lady said, said it had been there since she started working 25 years or so earlier.. Maybe it was the alcohol, not much as we were on lunchbreak..

I don’t wash them either for the food pantry. I asked the head person and their response was: if the people don’t like the look, they don’t have to choose them.

I know she got sick after store bought before, and part of that was because she had an ulcer and the semi cooked egg was irritating it. Not long after I got my khakis I had to feed different duck feed for I think it was only one bag, and it is sometimes ran in a facility that runs wild bird feeds and peanuts, which my mom is allergic to peanuts, and it causes her to have a reaction when she ate the eggs, so now she’s just paranoid and thinks she is allergic to eggs.
Yea. It’s amazing what’s done to cut costs on producing eggs, no wonder they have no flavor. Same thing with mass produced chicken meat, the meat has no flavor and there fore has a bunch of extra ingredients added to give it some flavor.

you can feed some back to the chickens. i usually do that with any eggs that are really dirty (not really enough fridge space to wash+store them). either fry in a non-stick pan or just microwave em.

I don't wash my eggs and keep them in the fridge. I just have four chickens and there's just the two of us. But I just started putting each day's fresh clean eggs in hydrated lime/pickling lime solution in half gallon glass jars. Saving them for winter. You can learn how to do it here. I can link to blogs and stuff, right? I'm new so I don't know if that's okay. She calls it waterglassing, but technically, that uses a different mineral. I got the 1 lb. bag of pickling lime at the grocery store and I had the jars. You want to use filtered water or non-chlorinated water. I added a bit more water and lime and two more eggs to this jar and started another yesterday. I got 15 eggs in one jar. The woman in the video uses a large bucket because she has LOTS of eggs to store. https://homesteadingfamily.com/preserved-eggs-water-glassing-eggs-for-long-term-storage/ IMG-0594.JPG

I"m going to try water glassing in one gallon plastic food buckets, numbering them as I fill them so I know which is the oldest. Seems a good idea since food shortages are coming and there might not be eggs to buy next winter
