What do YOU do when it's cold out???

Define cold... Around freezing is 4-5months out of the year here. That's a nice late fall or early spring day.

I'm not locking them up for nearly half the year. If it's below zero with a wind blowing directly through the coop door I might not open it and if it's snowing hard I won't so I don't have a coop full of snow. Otherwise I just close the windows and open the door. I don't have a pop door on my large coop only a 6' high door. When it got below -20F last year I did leave it closed some days but one day at -30 (not even counting windchill) after moving the bantams inside I had the door open with light wind blowing in the coop and my standards were wandering about the coop unconcerned and bored. They really don't care and even if they don't go outside would rather be able to see out and get some fresh air and direct sunlight than stay completely closed up all day.
