Be aware that if your dog isn't used to raw eggs, she WILL puke it up on the carpet.
Yeah, learned that the hard way. I think it was a texture reaction rather than a matter of anything in the egg making her ill.
If you want to use the roll outs and are worried about temperature, design your own, and design the collection box to be insulated (and, preferably, inside the coop; exterior collection boxes are naturally going to be colder). They're not hard to build -- basically all you need is enough slant for the egg to roll and a box for them to roll into (with, perhaps, some padding). But the hens definitely do not like using them.
