What do YOU do with the poop?

You treat it like the valuable asset that it is then use it to enrich the fertility of your soil. The brooder bedding I put around my blueberries over the winter did wonders for their appearance. Doing a lot for my black berries as well and I'm hoping my fig trees too.

For anything that you will likely be eating within a few months, especially if it grows low to the ground and is eaten raw, then you ought to spread the manure before it is planted or over the winter. At least 90 days before you are going to harvest. Remember that poultry manure is fairly hot so the more pure it is (as in the less bedding or litter) the thinner you apply it.

Compost pile!!! My garden looks fabulous after a good heaping turn in of the awesome compost I have with assistance from that compost. HOORAY FOR CHICKEN POO!!!

Ok, we've had the coop for about 10 months...all the dropping board collection has gone into an old large trash can. We can't in a pile because we have a dog that will eat everything!

So this poo has aged in a dark plastic can for months (older stuff on the bottom, of course:rolleyes:) When can we place this on a garden and till it in?

The usual compost pile. My dad puts a very small trail of the soiled bedding between his corn rows.
During the late fall and winter the chickens are in the garden so we just toss in there and they spread it around for us.
Makes the plants happy in the spring.

I've been adding it to the compost pile...a little at the time and saving the rest for next years garden. We just got our little additions right after the garden went in, so looking forward to using it next year.

I guess compared to the rest of you, I do it the lazy man's way. I scoop it out of the wheel barrow with the apple picker and just fling it across the backyard. It works for me...lol.
