I trap/killed a big rat last Saturday night. I should have catapulted it into the abandoned field across the street, but it was the middle of the night & I guess I wasn't thinking clearly. I double bagged it & threw it in the trash. So stupid of me. I was just talking about how bad that would smell & then did it anyway. :he The trash doesn't go down the road till Thursday nights, so that nasty rat baked in my driveway in 85* weather for 5 days. :sick I had to unleash an entire can of Febreze, plus a whole bottle of Meyers Lavender spray cleaner into that can. The Febreze, was barely denting the smell, but the Meyers Lavender is really strong. Between the two I was able to keep the stench from waifing into the windows or into the garage.

I think we need to add 'catapult' to the poll options.
:barnie :sick

Holy crap, I meant to send that in a PM, not here! gonna delete that now! My apologies if I offended anyone.

I trapped another rat last night. Its a little cooler here this week, but after last time I didn't want to put it in the trash can. DH & I made a makeshift catapult by tightly tying a plastic bag over the head of a little kids lacrosse stick. We then opened the trap dumping the dead rat into the shallow, bag covered pocket, took it across the street & DH launched it as far & as hard as he could into an abandoned field. He's got a good arm & got it far enough away so that we wont smell it, but I'm guessing something out there will eat it before it gets too ripe.

I new that stick would come in handy someday. ;)

Can I go off topic for a second to say, I love your username, :clapI love your avatar, :clap& I love your little cemetery. Don't worry, I'm not a stalker. Just, BRAVO! :clap
Thank you! The username, avatar and cemetery are all linked. The avatar photo is a piece I carved that sits under a bench in a cemetery, commissioned by the parents for a son who loved gargoyles and who passed way too young.
