Just wondering what the majority of you do with your quail

Do you keep them for pets

Sell the eggs?

Sell the birds?

Eat the birds?

Except the pet part...mine are in pens, they get looked at, feed and watered...they make noises and give me eggs and poop. Wouldn't call them pets...

dogs give you all the poop and none of the eggs or meat but you call them pets

My bobs are around to entertain me. Although I have considered eating a few of them, especially the boys that act like aggressive roosters! I few of my boys would love to gang up and me and do me in!

Right now I am hatching and just getting started with Jumbo Coturnix. They are spoiled rotten pets! lol..They will be going in our aviary. Our egg layers .

In the future we will hatch their eggs for meat quail, and hope to sell eggs.

A few will be set up for selective color breeding.

I have one young Coturnix that charges and pecks at my hand when I feed. I just sit and laugh at him .
