Just wanting to know what everyone else feeds to increase....healthy chicks and strong fertility?
I realize fertilty is to do with roosters, but what do you feed to make him stronger in his mating activities? To make the best babies possible?

Thanks!

Um, just what I always feed--an all in one feed, some corn now and then as a treat, and whatever we don't eat or give to the dogs or cats. Any basically healthy rooster should be quite fertile on any balanced chicken feed. If you're having low fertility or bad chicks I'd just get a new roo and see how that goes.

I feed a feed mix that contains Game Bird Feed, Floating Fish Pellet and Grains, I also add a good vitamin/ mineral concentrate to there water.
Try to stay away from feed that is overly high in calcium and plant proteins, they tend to lower the fertility of your birds.

You may want to pull vent feathers on both male and female birds, and also keep a ratio of 1 male to every 6 to 8 females this will also help on fertility.

We feed our chickens the same mineral that we give our cows. Mineral makes a big difference in our cows' health and fertility so we give it to our chickens too. Our chickens free range so they get plenty of protein but if they didn't I think I'd try to find a way to supplement their diet with greens and protein.

Mine free range also, and are on scratch grain, layer, cracked cron...they usually leave feed in the bowls by the end of the day of foraging.. I was just wondering. No my fertility and hate rate are great I was just wondered if I could give them anything more to increase overall productivity. Thanks all!
