What do you feed treats in?

We use the plastic dog bowls that are wider at the base than the top. We have 7 hens who eat their treats out of them in the morning and then 8 teenagers who have access to them the rest of the day. They very rarely tip them over and never do when there are treats in them. We sometimes use a metal dog dish that doesn't have a wide base and it gets tipped over more often because they try to roost on the edge.

If I am staying until they finish their treats I just put it on sheets of newspaper so that everyone gets a chance to get some. Then I just wad it up and throw it in the burn can or trash. Otherwise they like to shred the paper and and ply tag with the pieces.

Hi,
For my big girls, I use a clay saucer that they sell to put under pots. It's kind of heavy and they don't knock it over as much. The bantams are using a plastic toddler plate, just because it's something we had laying around.
I know of some people who use one of the wild bird seed block feeders (like a box of wire mesh that hangs on the coop) for their veggie and greens treats ... I think that is a great idea and I'm going to get one of them too. It will help hold their greens still so they can eat easier. It would probably be really easy to make one too!

I went to the goodwill and bought some stainless steel pie pans/cake pans - when I bang on them they come running because they know it is treat time!!! Really, anything works. besides, it will not last in the bowl/pan long. They tend to throw the food around a lot.
