What do you freeze in?

If you have bigger birds that you slaughter, how do you package them to freeze? Gallon bags don't seem big enough nor do vaccuum-packing film. What have you found?

We usually do "meal" based bags, just separate by how much we will eat.

Anybody tried butcher paper? I have a roll but haven't tried it for chicken. I've been using 2.5 gallon ziplocs, which are expensive.

Butcher paper is usually better about not burning, if wrapped right, make sure you get real butcher paper and freezer tape. I'm processing some tomorrow and will post how wrapping some whole birds works.

Actually I like using Seal a Meal to get an air free seal. My second preference is a zippered freezer bag. For bigger birds like turkeys, wrap in freezer paper and then seal in a garbage bag. Works great.

Shrink Bags ...wouldn't use anything else. Here's the link where I get mine, they have all sizes, I even used them for my 20lb turkeys.
