Mixed breed. If your rooster is your avatar, he may not be a pure Rock. He looks more like a black sex link male.I have a barred rock rooster and incubating eggs from a cinnamon queen, would anyone know of what the breed name for the chicks?

Please edit your post, this is a family friendly site.I have a Barred Rock rooster (mean as shit) mated w/ our beautiful Cochin hen. I incubated the eggs and I ended up with two gorgeous barred rock roos. Absolute gorgeous big birds with great personalities.
Absolutely! I was referring to coloring of Roos when these were mixed. Please edit your post, this is a family friendly site.
You handsome bow is not pure barred rock, he's half cochin.
Okay “NUThatched” didn’t mean to offend! Maybe you should edit your username??Absolutely! I was referring to coloring of Roos when these were mixed.
I know this is an old post but reading your comment has me puzzled? We have a white leghorn rooster (aren’t white leghorns considered non-barred?) who mated with our barred rock hen and all the babies hatched are white/yellow fluff? None of them are black like you stated? So I’m a little confused, lol. Trying to figure out what our chicks will look like. Any response is helpful! Thank you!If you cross a RIR roo (or any non-barred roo) with a Barred Rock hen you will get black sexlinks, the males will be black with a white spot on it's head & the females will have solid black heads at hatch. I just hatched this cross except the roo was RIR/buff Leghorn interestingly 3 of 5 were black sexlinks & 2 were white (I'm referring to them as being reverse black or white sexlinks) because the male has a solid white head (starting to have ghost barring) & the female has a faint black dot on her head.
