What do you grow to feed the chickens??

My oldest pulled a parsnip from last year-- does anyone know if the tops are safe to eat. I tried one leaf and it was bitter--spat it out just in case. I'm still kicking, , , , but left me wondering. Hate to waste beautiful greens if rabbit or chooks could eat it.

I read they can eat them without any problems.

I sure wish I could print that off-- must be a way me thinks!

We have tall bush blue berries here though I grew up with the short 2 foot at most type in Maine on the blue berry barrens. Hot, dry and boy the best blueberries. Every night the fogs comes in and if it rains enough the blueberries are BIG, if not, smaller. BUt still tasty

THis is the last day for Starks sale on berries.

You might try going on each page and hit print screen. Or right click and click print.

IT is a wonderful book-- I do like a hard copy on hand.

I looked at blueberies this moring and $17 per bush seemed high. Maybe it's that I have not purchased any blueberries in about 15 years. lol

The price of blueberries will come down at all of the stores in a couple of weeks. I grow varieties that top out at 4' due to space restrictions. Favorite varieties are Chippewa (? sp.), and Top Hat.

I am going to order it. I loved reading it. I have not bought blueberries in years but 17.00 sounds like a 3 gal. price not a 1 gal. that makes the difference.
