What do you guys think of these Cochins?

We want a bantam hen to put in the pen with my OEGB hen. But there are no bantam hens i can find in CT for sale!!! lol I was on eggbid and i found a few cochins but there prices were a little high, so i wanted to see if they are worth investing that much money on to use as a partner hen or to use as a broody, and possibly for some fair shows for my brother?

The ones you're looking at are show birds. Are you wanting show birds or pet quality birds?

I see you're wanting them for shows as well as pets. A good bird is only worth what someone will pay for them. If I were looking for strictly show birds and wanted them only for that, then I'd have no issue purchasing those birds for that price. If you're just wanting birds that don't cost much, don't really mind how they would do in a show...then I'd look elsewhere.

I want something to be a buddy with my show bird, i don't plan on getting into cochins, but if i were to invest that much money into a hen, i would want atleast BQ... Make Sense?

Then I'd go for it! They are good birds! And as Blackbird said, make sure to keep their leg feathers clear of mud balls and snow balls!

Nobody can guarantee that ANY bird will be a broody bird. But, bantam Cochins are well-known for their broodiness.
