I've heard of BR being more dominant/pushy. My one adult barred rock (have two in the brooder) is completely indifferent to the flock. She does her own thing and has no interest in being a part of their daily business. She sweet with people and doesn't pick on other birds. She just ignores them all together. She may be a bit "special" though, so that could play into it.

Animal personalities are just as different as human personalities. I got 3 chicks day-old from the feed store (so probably more like 3 days old when I finally picked up my order). Anyway, the 3 Dominique chicks were different. Two chicks always slept together and foraged together while the 3rd little chick isolated herself from the two perky chicks. As a grown pullet she still mostly isolates herself from the other chickens. And she's gentler and sweeter than the other Doms were.
