I love the idea of a mixed flock. All different color feathers and all different colored eggs!! Nature gives us such variety!
My first batch of chicks are...

Buff Orpington
Black copper Marans
Black ameraucana ( was supposed to be blue)
Black laced red Wyandotte (was supposed to be blue)
Blue laced red Wyandotte
Red sexlink
Black sexlink
Iowa blue
Iowa-ameraucana mix (2)

We can only have six hens, so I will end up giving up any roo's or blacks that don't lay interesting colored eggs. They range from 2 weeks to 5 weeks old. The first five I ordered females from a hatchery. The second five were picked up from here and there, straight run.

I like this question - it give me the opportunity to do a complete headcount. I love all types/breeds of chicken!!

I have:

3 Red Breasted Bantam hens
6 Silkies
1 Silver Duckwing Bantam (my fav)
4 Black Marans - 3 hens, 1 cockerel
1 White Japanese Bantam Rooster
14 Buff Orpington hens
1 HUGE Buff Orpington Rooster
8 Ameraucanas pullets
2 RIR
1 Golden Penciled Hamburg
2 Silkie/Japanese Bantam crosses
3 Old English Game Bantam Roosters
2 Back Stars
1 Cuckoo Maran hen
21 Guineas
4 Turkeys

I think that about covers it - I hope I'm not leaving anyone out! It's a lot for a hobby but I we live on 240 acres. I keep telling my husband - it's not like we don't have the space lol!

I am new to chicken keeping and it was tough to limit myself to on one or two breeds.
We have...
2 bantam mottled cochins
1 double laced barnevelder
1 silver grey dorking
1 easter egger
1 barred plymouth rock
1 buff brahma
1 columbian wyandote
1 speckled sussex
1 buff orpinton

Okay...here's my list :)
9 production reds, hens
5 leghorn hens and 1 rooster
2 rhode island red hens and 1 rooster
2 barred rock hens
3 silver laced wyandotte hens and 1 rooster
2 black tailed japanese bantam hens and 1 rooster
2 american game bantam hens and 1 rooster
1 partridge cochin bantam hen and 1 black cochin bantam rooster
2 easter egger hens
1 american game hen (standard size)
1 black silkie hen *?
1 polish crested hen *?
3 rainbow hens
1 welsummer rooster
1 black australorp hen
And 4 hatched a couple of weeks ago, 1 welsummer/black australorp mix, 2 welsummer/production red mix, and 1 welsummer/leghorn mix...
Only 13 adult birds in the flock and other than the recently hatched 4, they're all between 8-12 weeks...*being unfamiliar with silkies and polish crested I'm unable to sex them until they either crow or lay an egg lol!
