here, i can get a fifty pound bag of people oats for about twenty seven dollars. with the gas prices, the price went up to that. i just give my animlas my leftovers or what spills or a hanful as a treat. (yes, i do eat a lot of oatmeal)

can you buy animal grade oats for cheaper? people around here act like im nuts when i ask.

but maybe i just havnen't found the right place to ask.

At the local feedstore you can buy whole or crimped oats. Normally they are under 15.00 per 50 lbs, but they are not the same as you would make oat meal ( ie rolled oats) out of.

http://horsecare.stablemade.com/articles2/oats.htm see pictures of the oats here.

Diana loves this part.

Nutritional Value: 8 - 13% crude protein, 7 - 9.5 dig. protein, t.d.n 71.5%, calcium 0.09%, phosphorus 0.33%, 11 - 14 MJ DE/kg, 10 - 12% fiber, 4.5% oil, nut. ration 1:6.6. Low in calcium, B complex vitamins, vitamin A and lysine.

here is a place in NJ for feed they suggest 12.50 for 50 lbs of oats.

Do you have a Tractor supply or Agway near you?

It may help in the find.
