What do you put in your run for cover

I have a 10 foot covered run and the grass has turned to dirt. What can I put down now that the grass is gone?

It's starting to get stinky and poop covered no matter how many times I rake it up.

I recommend sand not the fine stuff more like a construction sand, I used septic sand it's coarse and has alot of small stones, very easy to clean with a cat litter scoop and a rake, it drains very well and won't turn into a mud pit.If it were me I would put some metal roofing on the roof of the run to keep it even dryer. In the winter I wrap mine with a heavy canvas and a clear shower curtain on the front, it keeps the snow out and lets the sunshine in kinda like a greenhouse effect.

Works very well for me and is actually better for your birds if done correctly.
