What do you put in your Run?

You can see the coop, the feeder/waterer shelter, the anti-hawk shelter, the in-run perch, and the straw-bale wind baffles.

They dig their own dust baths, which I fill up with pine straw if they get too deep for my comfort.

To summarize:

Things to sit on.
Things to sit under.
Places to get away from the others.
Shelter from sun/rain/airborne predators.
Stuff to dig through in search of goodies.
Wind baffles arranged to offer protection from any angle since we can get storms from any direction.
Love your sign! LOL

I've been looking for some chicken run ideas but I can't seem to find any ideas for the inside. I was thinking maybe some plants (like Mexican feather grass) and some roosts but I'm new to chickens so I don't know a whole lot yet.
Feel free to share pictures and any ideas you have
We just upgraded our covered run to provide our girls with entertainment and exercise.
We added an old wooden ladder, a bench, a swing, a xylophone, a stump and an elevated large branch. I haven’t seen them use the swing or tap on the xylophone yet but they seem to appreciate the other additions.

This last December, I got some red, green, and silver jingle bells (ooo! shiny! sparkly! jingly!) and hung them up about chicken head height.

The chickens would have NOTHING to do with them. The bells were over the very lowest part of their climbing ramp. They stopped going up the ramp, so I moved the ramp. They still would have nothing to do with that side of the run. I finally took the bells down.

Silly birds.

I have a small toddlers playhouse and toddler slide that they seem to really enjoy. Of course they do not slide down the slide (well, they did at first by accident) but they get on it and under it. The playhouse is constantly used. Then every so often I move the playhouse to a different spot so they can scratch around for bugs and such that are under it. So, fairly good addition all in all. I had it in a goat pasture before the run and it was used extensively there. The goats loved playing king/queen of the roof top. And, before the goats human kids used it. So, I guess have gotten my monies worth out of it.

I use pine shavings and sand, but I free range my chickies most of the time. They stay in the run during inclement weather or if I'm gone for an extended amount of time! I also have large branches spanning the width of the run in case they'd like to get off the ground, and I see them up there chilling sometimes. They also have a swing to use if they wish, but I don't see them use it that often haha.
