What do you think about GM?

85% of conservative's disagreed with the bail out. Conservatives represent about 40% of voting age Americans and about 48% of people that vote.

Yes Obama has let a lot slide by as far as the bail out went. The 1st half was already distributed when he took office and he didn't have any control of it. The 2nd half was distributed on his watch and it appears that it was no better controlled that the 1st half. Seems like the companies involved spent the money to cover their personal interest's vs the interests of the tax payers. Unlike AIG and some of the other banks, GM and Chrysler were given loans with interest in the company as collateral. Unlike the bail outs we will probably see our money back. According to the execs at those 2 companies they are not being run by Uncle Sam.

The president is running them... that's why 98% of those who lost their franchises (even many that were very profitable) were those who had donated to the Republican party. (Simple fact folks.. you can look it up if you have doubts... Wall Street Journal verified the fact)

That is so sad! I don't like the way that the president is "fixing" the economy--so partisan and unfair!

I for one am scared to death at where our great country is headed and I also an really tired of companies sending the jobs to Mexico or China or any other country. We need the jobs here. I am also tired of people taking advantage of the government and the government taking advantage of the people in the form of handouts, bailouts and taxes. YA hear about the government paying $20.00 for a toilet seat, well who the heck sells toilets seats for $20.00. Both sides gouge each other and its bullpucky. Also all the illegals that come and take jobs away from the unskilled americans. Its just chaps my hide!!! I will just jump off my box now and wish everyone a wonderful day.

Notice that is not a media item. Also, tons of those construction jobs are not unskilled. There are tons of skills in being a plumber/electrician/drywaller/painter/heavy equipment operator/roofer/concrete hand/ etc etc etc

Get a life. That's one of the silliest things I ever heard. Even at my worst I would not have believed that about Bush and he's about as low as you can go and still be above ground. Makes good air time for Rush and Hennity though. They are about as un-American as they come.

Well, I don't know about the political stuff. But what I do know is the only domestic vehicle we have around here is a Dodge truck - and that truck is at the mechanic more than it's at our house.
Meanwhile we have a Honda SUV and a hybrid that have more miles than the truck and only have needed regular maintenance.
If they'd make quality cars I might buy them.

To me it is pitiful when you see how low the country sank under Bush to right away try to blame Obama for anything. I mean people, we are a zillion dollars in debt, could that possibly explain any of our problems? We weren't in debt 8 1/2 years ago. It's worse than the phrase, we don't own the house, the bank does (referring to the mortgage), well the Chinese and many other nations own us!

When I worked for a Pharmaceutical company I was paid an enormous amount of money. It was a job practically anyone could do. I didn't argue with my paycheck. If my former company could move the whole company to Mexico or China and then pay 1/10 of the wages, why wouldn't they? Isn't that the whole idea of capitalism that we all hold so dear?
