Fred and George are about 8wks. I am pretty sure they are both pullets but since I am new to this whole chicken thing, I thought I might get some more opinions. Thanks!

Not a great pic of their bodies, but they are skittish and hard to photograph:

(Bonus points to anyone who knows which HP book the above names are from; yes I am a HUGE HP dork.)

Yep they are named after the Weasley twins but the question really refers to the "Gred and Forge" spellings. I can't help it... it's a sickness.

I think so also. So far the five birds I have picked out seem to all be hens. I hope my luck holds that well for the next time!

mine are 6 weeks and my 2 roos have bright red combs and wattles much larger than that, my girls look like that, but I do have 1 who is as of yet s*xually ambigous.

My girls have much larger tail feathers, roos get then later, if that helps you.

also, when I picked them out at a day old their combs were a little bigger and the beaks were mostly red which the store lady told we was an old farmers thing, I picked right. Except for that one......

And it's Book 1.

"You haven't got a letter on yours", George observed. "I suppose she thinks you don't forget your name. But we're not stupid - we know we're called Gred and Forge."

We're big HP fans here too.
