What do you think? Am I too picky?

I will keep searching until they find new homes, and if not, I guess I need a coop addition.
Hey that’s why I have so many cockerels... I would butcher unwanted ones or sell them, but the nice looking ones stay because they don’t deserve to be butchered by me or others. I use them for breeding and they respect me because I teach them when they’re young.

I am picky too 😂

I make sure all my chicks go to good homes.

If you are to picky then so am I.
I don't think there is anything wrong with being diligent in making sure the animals will be protected from predators and well cared for.

I have a very young flock of ducks. Next year.....after I let them hatch ONE batch I will sell hatching eggs....not ducklings. It is a lot of effort to hatch so hopefully those that buy hatching eggs and put in the effort to hatch will take good care of them.

I think it's what I should do being that I was the reason they came into this world. I've butchered a couple for food but I knew the conditions they lived in, made sure the death was quick, etc.

Mine live the best life until I butcher them. I do not butcher many. I usually keep them 😂 That is why we are up to 6 roosters

In my defense though all are bantams except 2

I feel people see ducklings as just cheap toys that they can replace and I hate that. Incubating eggs seems like a tough process, I would think anyone who buys hatching eggs puts in the effort.

I've had people message me from Craigslist asking to buy some ducklings because they've lost them to a predator/dog, if I ask if the predator/dog issue has been fixed, and it's not, I refuse to sell them any.
When people are inquiring, I ask about the pen, duck house, etc.
I've had people message actually asking me if I could FREEZE them for reptile or dog food.
I've been told I'm too picky.
But following my religious beliefs and my own personal beliefs, I just cannot allow myself to sell ducklings to someone who is essentially providing fodder to the wildlife/dogs, or trying to house them in a house that's basically a buffet to the wildlife. (At those people who buy ducks to replace without actually mitigating the issue.)
These are the first and LAST ducklings I have hatched and will sell.
So what do you guys think?
I don't think you are at all picky I wouldn't sell to them either

I have two roosters. What'd I do instead of choosing between them? (I love them both) well I did what any rational person would do and built another coop and pen.
