In fact, I think they even discovered with a supercomputer a few years ago that the chicken came first.
 
I'm gonna say that the egg came first. Two creatures mate, and the female lays an egg. Out hatched a chicken. Ta-da.
 
You know...you could have something there! I know here while back some folks were noticing the hawk chicks here abouts were not good at hunting or flying and looked strangely like chickens. Chicken hawks maybe. Regular hawk chicks all these many years and suddenly, out of nowhere....chickens!
