I just want to commend M To The Maxx for once again starting an awesome thread..
For some one so young to be asking such amazing questions is great... Keep thinking outside the box and challenge everything... Its what will help to define you as you grow older...

I don't recall ever trying to be your proxy in anything, least of all this. So please don't take umbridge at the fact I joined in a light-hearted thread in a light-hearted manner, and accuse me of doing so. I neither know you, nor your views. Since you seem to find me objectionable, please skip any posts I may make in future, that way I can't offend you.
thank you.
for everyone who didn't think I was specifically targetting them personally -

ebwy, I understand that you have some type of resentment towards Jesus Christ that I won't go into here and that you most likely resent what I believe and profess. I comprehend that part. But please, review your quote of yourself above, particularly the underlined portion.
I believe in the Triune God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob so it's no great surprise that I am on the creation side of the creation/evolution debate. If you look at the underlined part of your statement you will in part read "both sides of the creation/evolution debate can accept that eggs came first". The word "Both ", by most English definitions, means "two", you also went a bit further by identifying the two sides. By your wording you are attempting to include me (and most any other creationist) with the evolution side of the debate when you say that "both sides...can accept that eggs came first." I can't accept that. I believe, by faith, that God spoke all of Creation into existence. I believe that to be true to God and even, for what it's worth, that being within my basic human rights that I had to refute your statement and state my position. By the literal wording of your statement you attempted to speak for me. Here is a definition of the word PROXY , if you need it.
You included me in something that I rightfully disagree with and I responded in what I thought was a civil manner.
Now...I know your views and you know mine. I will restrain from responding to any of your future posts per your request, but if I may, I will continue to pray for you and your unborn child as you have requested elsewhere in this message board.
I truly hope that you and your growing family will have a blessed life,
Ed
PS....in case there's any doubt out there, I still pick the CHICKEN.
Well said!! Good Job!!! That encouraged me so thank you!!

one last comment, and then I will skip your posts too.
firstly, I am an open MESSIANIC pagan. That means I do believe in Jesus too. Just like messianic jews are jews who believe in jesus, I just happen to be a pagan who does. So your assessment of my religious beliefs or lack of, and the resentment I'm accused of towards you (why? I didn't even know you existed until this thread, so I had no reason to resent you) is wrong. I DO resent some specific people who I encountered in church, because their behaviour was bullying. Not what I thought christians are supposed to do. But that's specific to those people, not a general thing against all christians. I still have many christian friends and wouldn't even consider trying to change them. I have friends who are so irritated by the behaviour of some people in the church as a whole that they no longer use the word "christian" about themselves, prefering to call themselves "christ followers" instead. Again, not my place to try to change them either.
but that's not what this thread is about.
You seemed to target me specifically, when I wasn't arguing against creation. I was just saying that humans DO breed animals to bring out certain traits, and that's what happened with chickens. Just like humans took the canines that some believe God created and others believe evolved, and now we have chihuahuas, irish wolf hounds, and every other breed in between. Someone took the wild junglefowl and bred chickens from them. Domestication, not creation, when it comes to that. At no point did I ever argue against your viewpoint.
Humans by our very nature seem to want to dabble in everything, hence we have breeds of animals that we have domesticated for our own purposes, and we do the same with plants (hence all the varieties of apples).
You don't seem to want to understand that. Fine, I can't tell you what to understand or believe about anything, and I wouldn't try.
Now if you've read that and done so without prejudice, you can say that you know my opinion on it.
I don't expect you to agree, but if you are going to profess to understand my opinion you should read it first.
Lots of very good Christians believe in evolution and not the literal creation account so let's don't talk about anyone resenting Jesus just because their views are slightly different then someone elses. We are such a diverse group here and for the most part, we are very respectful of one another. Let's continue that and try not to take offense where none was meant.
Max, after reading all the replies, which do you think came first? I think that deep fat fryers came first because what is the use of having chickens if you can't dip them in batter and fry them to a golden, delicious color.
I'm a weird one on here. I belive in evolution and a "higher power". So my train of thought is, whatever "higher power" you believe in, influenced the fishes and reptiles to lay eggs instead of giving birth. That "God" can change or influence nature, to ensure the survival of life (i.e evolution). So when the reptiles evolved into birds, they continued to lay eggs. Like I said, weird huh?
The chicken came first in other words IMO.
I embrace and respect the fact that everyone is different and is in titled to their own, unchallenged opinion. This is a chicken website after all.
