Those chicks are on inventory! They would not tolerate that kind of inventory shrinkage. They would have perked it up and sold it.

I would guess that they have a "hospital" area in the back. Better that they were seperated from the others than pecked to death by the healthier and more lively chicks. Sometimes all a chick needs is a little extra tlc and they do fine.

They used to donate them to me. i have a 50% recovery rate. now it seems they try a bin but many about 90+% die. When I was getting them I drip feed them every 20 minutes. But that is far to labor intensive for a $2 chick.
