What do you think is the best approach to MY predator problem?

I don’t care for leg traps or drowning (I would probably catch myself in the leg trap). I do like live traps and hunting. I have been hunting predators my entire life (well almost). I have been working on a new system for thirteen years now and it’s working pretty well so far.

This was a head shot from about twelve to fifteen yards last year when she was twelve. When we found it the snake was coiled and ready for business. She has been shooting a bb gun since about three and a 22 since five. She gets complements from people all the time. One guy told her when she was ten that she shoots better than most police he knows and he’s a range master so he sees a lot of cops. I have to practice all the time or she will be better than me in a few years. Most families go to a park for a family outing we go to the range.

You've got a regular "Annie Oakley" there! pretty cool....

I am a better shot than my husband, but he says that he is right-handed/left eye coordinated, so he has to accomodate his sight. I am right-handed/right eyed, so , I guess, it's easier to focus. You daughter must have a great eye to be able to sight so well. Ever considered competition?

Ya know, the 2012 Olympics still has categories that encorporate shooting.

I have thought about competitive shooting but she is going to be in FFA this year and with all the other work we do it’s hard to find a lot of time. We have talked about it. She loves to shoot but she doesn’t really care to compete (unless it’s with her younger sister), but at some point she may change her mind. Not to mention that it’s not cheep, match guns and ammo. I would have to sale a kidney and my left leg for that.

I almost forgot tell your husband that’s what most people say that cant shoot worth a darn.

If it's a fox, as I suspect that it is, you will not be able to trap it. I would bait the chicken house and crawl on top of the garage or outbuilding. You may wait awhile, but, he will be back...then shoot him...

that is awesome, btw they say girls are a better shot than boys anyway being that we generally have a steadier hand and more patience

I don't think I can say this enough, but in my coop I have a radio playing constantly on the talk radio station so there are voices and I have Never had anything come in my coop except copperhead and I took care of them.

I have a very small light also so they can see if ever they need to get out of reach of something. The coop exit hole is always opened to their run so things could get in.

That's a whole different story for my neighbor lady. She has lost so much stuff to the wild.
