A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that my cockerel's eye lid was closed, almost like it was swollen (but I don't believe that it was ever swollen shut.) and I was not sure why. I separated him from the rest of the flock, because chickens can sometimes be a little brutal when there is any sort of injury.
I kept an eye on him, and because it did not get better, I tried to find something that sounded like it would help.
I ordered some VetRx and got it a couple of days ago and have been using that so far. But I think he will need something else, because his eye has not gotten any better. I know a picture would be helpful, but I am not able to get one at the moment ( I might be able to get one soon.), so I will try to describe it. His eye is not swollen from what it looks like, there is no pus or anything like that from what I have seen, and he keeps it almost open when he is on the ground (but not when picked up.). His eye is also very watery, which made me think at first that he might have just gotten something in it or it was pecked. But his pupil has a white, milky look to it, which concerns me. Could this be eye worm? A respiratory infection?
Thank you for any responses or tips!!
