What do you think of Barnevelders?

I have 2 four month old barred rocks and am loving them. Want to get a third chicken and the same farmer I got the BRs from has barnevelders about the same age. Would like to try another breed and she says they are about equal to the BR as far as being docile, laying, broodiness. My biggest priority is calm and docile. Had a leghorn that I had to rehome as she was flighty and always trying to jump the fence. #2- want friendly, quiet and calm and a good layer. What do you all think? Of course I would get another BR if they are the supreme choice for my wants. Thanks so much!

I just got a Barnevelder along with a Blue Marans and a couple of Welsummer(s). They are all pullets that have just layed their first eggs. These girls all seem to have similar personalities. They are calm and not at all "flighty". I think the Barnevelder is going to be my favorite; she's so beautiful and easy-going. Hope this helps you make a decision.
