Okay I'll be honest -

There isn't much to judge from a wet crowing photo.

However, I can easily say he's got black eyes, a bad comb, white in the earlobes, poor color, and a breast that appears lacking.

Oh an NOOOO shank feathering... in case you missed that... His eyes are sooo dark and he is Jet shiney black but becuz he is wet and it is sunny out, it is really hard to tell.. This was last year during that horrific rainy spell...

Like I said, crowing wet photo and cropped out legs, I can't fully tell on feathering but I assumed it was at least light.

Hey I've had worse than yours though.

I once put out an ad wanting free roosters, got a whole car-load of BC Marans cockerels from a lady, all culls, and wow - Some were just weird, never seen such oddities before.


Terrible thing is, I found out that my own flock is hiding some terrible traits. And I found out by cross-breeding. I bred a clean-legged bird to one of my best Marans hens, then bred that mutt back to the rest of my Marans hens and what do I get? 1 in 10 birds having vulture hocks.

Where did they come from?!
