I am thinking about ordering these for the spring:
2 non white leghorn hens and roo
1 chantelcer hen
1 australorp hen
1 dominique hen
1 Rhode island red hen
and maybe 1 campine hen
what is everyones experience with these breeds?
post pictures add any comments thanks!!!

I've really enjoyed my Light brown leghorns and the RIRs... but the RIRs don't do well in the heat of the summer here.

Leghorns aren't winter hardy because of their large single comb. They are prone to frostbite. That's not to say don't buy them but those single combs (and they have large ones, even the hens) will require Bag Balm or Vaseline in the winter.

I'm not sure about Campines, don't know much about them. Chanteclers are a Canadian breed, Aussies do well and I think the Dominiques will do well also.

I have australorp, Leghorn, Dominique and R.I. Red's They all do well for me here in N.E. Ohio. You shouldn't have a problem with the Leghorn's comb BUT if think you might then get them in the Rose Comb variety...
