This morning I let my chickens out for the day, but when I came back a few hours later my rooster had disapeared! I then noticed all the feathers scattered throught my backyard and after following the feathers i found my rooster in the grass not even 25ft away from the coop. He had had his insides and his neck eaten but whatever had gotten to him had left the rest of him there. Does anybody know what could have done this, and on top of it in broad daylight?
Thanks for reading and please help so I can find out what to do so my other chickens don't get attacked.
Thansk again bye

Without a doubt, thats the handy work of a mink. Had a friend catch one eating one of his. Six of his others head missing and the insides eaten out.

Sounds fox-like to me...

But wouldn't a fox have taken the chicken away and not have left him where he killed it??

Would a racoon have come out during the day though? and he was a pretty large brahma rooster on top of it.... so could it have been a racoon?
