Hey all, we got these 8 Black Australorp chickens around Easter from our local fleet supply. Some days we think she's a hen and other days we are SURE he's a rooster. I guess only time will really tell but what do you all think?


These were the best pics I could get without help. And don't worry about their cage guys. With any luck (we need good luck) they will be out in their brand new coop/run in about a week.

Well if we really do have one I'll have to convince my hubby not to just eat him lol

We don't really want chicks yet but we did buy the black australorp for its duel purpose. So maybe we could get some meat birds from him and a certain hen or two eventually.

They really are beautiful birds. Love the Sheen they have in the sun, and, they have a pretty body type. They are great layers! Not sure how they taste... Never ate one.
