I think you have a major fire hazard on your hands.
And birds that are going to have a difficult time acclimating to winter temperatures because of the lamp.
They are way past the point of needing a heat lamp.
You really need to get it out now.

"What do you think?"​


Like many of the other replies, I think you can skip the heat lamp. We got to 2F last night. The girls were out in the run by 5am, which is a little after the lights came on. 2 of the 4 girls have already laid an egg this morning. No heat lamp. Pop door, windows open all night. Unless you are really in a cold region, I think skipping heat is the way to go. YMMV.
