What do you think?

At 12 weeks old my twelve RIR pullet's combs were all under 1/4" tall and flesh colored. No red. And no wattles to speak of. My four RIR roosters on the other hand had big red combs and wattles.

Were these "packing peanuts" from a hatchery by chance?

I was going to say the same thing. What are the odds of having all boys?

To answer your question...what are the odds? I bought 9 "pullets " last year, all 9 were roos!!

I will try to get better pictures later today but two of the five have large red combs and wattles the others have smaller combs and wattles that are a pinkish color. I really hope they are not all roos.

I was walking away from the pen one day last week and I thought I heard a short crow. I was so supprised I didn't know if it was a chicken or a neighbor trying to mess with me.

They came from a lady up the road that hatched them out.

Hold on.....come to think of it i had a hen who looked JUST like that.....
just because they all have big combs doesn't mean that they're ALL
roos. Keep me posted! Good luck!!

What luck! Sorry, maybe your neighbor will trade you for some pullets? Or at least help you butcher them!
