I have 6 RIR and 6 BS. Three of the RIR have chewed feathers where the tail feathers start. I don't see any bugs, but I noticed black spots(1 or two spots) on some of the other birds combs. I have cleaned their coop and applied DE (I have been using DE in their coop from the start). I have sprinkled poultry dust on the three. Should I do the rest? Should you have a schedule on when you should treat? They are all happy and talkative to you. They eat and drink well. They have been laying for three weeks and we get 5 eggs a day. Is there anything else I should do? Thanks!! Deb

When I dust, I always do the whole flock at once that way I know everyone has been treated. They get dusted usually twice a year, and we're doing good with that. If they got mites or something, I'd do it more often, but so far they havent had any. I'd say you're doing good, and maybe dust the rest.
