Im in the designing stage of the next coop and would like to put my brooders in it. Right now i use rabbit cages. What do you use?

I have a 48" round hard plastic kiddie pool that I use to move them to after some time in my office. In my office it's warm and I use a clear plastic bin from Walmart. I cut the top out and attached wire fencing to keep them in. It's easy to clamp the heat light to it though once the lid is on I can hang a light over it. I'll try to post pics.

Something very similar to a rabbit cage. Mine is 5' x 3' x 2' high. Completely wire but on a wooden stand. I did put plastic all the way around it and down to the ground to stop drafts. If you are building it in, I'd make it as big as you can stand. I had 28 in mine and they did fine until I let them out at 4 weeks.

i use cardboard boxes and toss them between new batches. Then they go into cages. I just bought a used two sided home made chick brooder cage yesterday. Started re-arranging so I could plug it in and see how the smaller babies like it, but I ran out of time and had to go to work. Maybe this weekend. It has two built in heater thingies and I want to give them a trial run before I put in chicks. Looks like it was set up for button quail.
