What do you use for roosting poles?

I use 2" diameter closet poles. They are mostly round, but do have a flatten side as well. An 8ft pole holds about 6 or more of my heavy birds no problem. You can also cut them down to whatever length you need. The diameter is just right for my birds to wrap their toes around comfortably.

Small PVC pipe are some of their favorite . to me 2x2's work ok also . and combination of 2x4's also .

i use dead branches i find in the forest, i guess you could call me a treehugger or hippie!!

We used our old closet rods. As you can see our girls love 'em just fine! Hubby screwed them into the end caps so they don't rotate and can't get knocked down.
