What do you use to get rid of a HUGE mice problem in the coop?

You could try the "5 gallon bucket of death".

Fill a 5 gallon bucket 1/2 or 2/3 full of water.

Put a piece of wood like a 2X4 across the top/opening and along the sides as ramps.

Put of heavy layer of sunflower seeds in the water, the seeds will float and it will look like a bucket of sunflower seeds.

The mice, chimpmunk, rat, etc will jump in the bucket to get the sunflowers and then drown because they will not be able to get out.

Just make sure there is a good gap between the top and the water level so they dont get out. You can use a bigger bucket if you like.

Cheap and easy. Good luck!

I made a bucket trap that I saw somewhere on here, It is a bucket with a tincan and a peice of wire. You can google Bucket trap to see how to make it. Didn't cost anything and works like a charm.

...or you could throw your cats in there!

You can borrow mine, they're crazy. Little kitty prefers chasing flys / bugs and Zephyr will kill anything that moves!

I have not but a friend of mine used it to get rid of his chipmunk problems.

I have the "Basement window of death"

Current building code requires a big widow if you plan to finish your basement or put a room in case of fire, etc. To get out of the window there is 1/2 metal ring and steps it is about 3 feet wide and 5 feet deep. Mice and volves are allway falling in and dying. In the peak of summer I probably rescue 6-12 toads and frogs per week. For some reason the toads and frogs can survive the fall. They become tempory pets for my daughter. Poor little guys.

You could put about 10 rat snakes in the coop and they will eat the mice. When the mice are gone you put two hawks in there to eat the snakes. When they have eaten all the snakes you can put a bobcat in to eat the hawks. Then you put a coyote in to eat the cat. All you have to do then is get a very big dog to kill the coyote. Shoot the dog if he starts eating the chickens. As you can see the problem is solved. Just repeat if the mice return.
