What Do You Want Added To The BYC Forum & Site?

I think it would be cool to add or make our user list easier to use. lets say you remember talking to someone who knew tons about silkies, but you don't remember the name, if you type something similar in the search bar of that person's name it won't show you anything. At least if you typed, lets say, silk.... then other names with the word silk in it would appear and you would be able to contact the appropriate person. I know because i have tried looking for people so i could email them with a question and i could not find them because of the way the user list is.

Not even sure if you can code something like this. I have several threads that I LOVE and have to dig through all the forums to find them. Is there a way to favorite say 5 or 10 or 15 and itll show new posts on them when you log on? I have a bad memory so its hard to have to litterally search through everything to find out it hasnt got a new post or I forgot about my favorite postings and am now 2 days behind on it argg Help the Bubba Plz!!

Thanks Nifty and the rest of you Admins/Mods. This site is awesome. I totally agree with Nifty in that people need time to cool off at times. I am one of those people. I am passionate about many things besides chickens. Passionate people sometimes tend to let their emotions run with it. I try to hold back and am sorry if its caused trouble or does in the future.

Do a search for:

Keyword: user
Author search: *demented*
Show results as: Posts

or

Keyword: user
Author search: *ham*
Show results as: Posts

Either one will return your post above.

Note, I used the wildcard character * for partial matches.

If that isn't what you need, reply with a VERY specific example (like the one above)

Would having a header with the letters A-C; D-G-etc. under the user list help? I understand what you mean. I have gone through page after page trying to get to the s's or m's under the user list. Since they are listed in alphabetical order a header separating those letters would be much quicker. Just a suggestion.

So you are looking for a user with a word in their name?

Click on "User list" at the top and search for *silk*

Thank you Nifty. That is exactly what I was requesting. I had read that sentence about "the wild card" but I never understood it or knew what it was for.
