What do your chickens do in the rain?

It is 30 degrees here and raining ICE. Everything is covered in ice, and my silly hens will not go into their coop and stay dry! They would rather scratch around in the grass and peek in through the deck window then stay comfy.

Mine don't mind a light rain, but when it really comes down, they go into the ark (that is covered with a tarp) and look out waiting for it to subside so they can come back out and dig for worms.

My 5 hens don't mind some rain, "hey there are earth worms out there to get".....(blacktop driveway is best feeding ground)
If it is really raining they head for underneath the raised chicken coop.
Nobody goes in till dusk, no matter what!

by the way it's 5 eggs a day every day! (took the soup pot out once and gave them a "lecture", now it is 5 a day!)

my girls don't mind a light rain, but the first time it snowed.. they didn't come out.. they would peek out and some would go down the ramp... look at the snow and run back in!!! Now snow is no big deal...

Foraging activity drops. Much less flying. They stand with tail collapsed angled slightly down. When foraging, they seem to be more intense. Much of behavior seems to be about conserving heat. They like cover but still stand where they can see surroundings clearly.
