Just out of curiosity, what do your chickens do in the rain?

Mine don't mind the rain, but once its done raining and the grass is all wet, they all pile onto the rocks.

Stand out in it and look all forlorn, then splatter mud on me when I come to check for eggs.

Ours have tons of trees to hang out under, they stay fairly dry.

Of course they could always go back INSIDE the chicken coop, but then they might miss a bug or worm.

My neighbours chickens head for the trees or garage and stay quiet dry.
(I'm afraid I can't speak out of my own experience due to the fact that I currently don't have any chickens.

Mine really don't mind the rain- but if it is windy, they head in. We built a "sun room" out of old windows, with a metal roof. That gives them fresh air without being out in the elements. Great for wind and snow.

With a light sprinkle...they do the same as a sunny day. Heavy rain....under an evergreen
bush (we have two in the Chicken Fenced Yard). Real heavy rain...head into the coop.
Go in and out to check if it has stopped. They are smart.
