what does everyone do with the Extra roos from hatchs

thanks for asking that--- I was gonna ask the same..
seems 2 of my 3 new silkies are boys, and I already HAVE 3 silkie roo's... and since they are "pets"... can't even THINK of eating them!

I took 10 "packing peanuts" to my local feedstore...they gave them away. I asked a few days later what happened with the chicks....they said a lady took the whole box. I made sure they knew they were most likely all roos, so maybe this lady will put them in her freezer...don't know for sure.

We like to raise them and eat them. You never know if might be that SPECIAL roo you where looking for.

I grow mine out till I decide if I like their looks or not and then sell the rest. I have several co workers who are quite willing to buy them for their soup pot.

I got some darn nice polish roos, some darn nice chochin roos, some darn nice ee roos, some darn nice leghorn and RIR roo from packing peanuts. I would raise them until you know that you really want to rid yourself of them.

The above roos are happy, content and they only fight when i introduce new roos into the flock.

craigslist for sure - once in a while I can sell one but mostly I have to give them away
