What does everyone think about feeding chickens boiled eggs from the flock?

Ok new to chickens. And this chicken eating egg is kinda freaking me out. Chickens are cannibals, and it’s good for them. Also chickens still taste good to us. Wow mind blown!!! Ok concept in feed Hens boiled or scrambled eggs as a treat. Lol

Mine are 10 weeks from laying yet. I do not intend to feed them egg. For one, those are expensive eggs, considering the upfront investment I have made and I want to savor every one. I also, I know hens may peck at their freshly laid eggs and I don't want to encourage that from the beginning. They will get plenty of protein in bugs and slugs in the garden for treats on top of their regular, formulated feed.

Feeding chipped up hard boiled egg will not make them start to eat their own freshly laid eggs. Even breaking a fresh egg on the ground won't make them do that
I feed eggs when I get a surplus, I don't wash eggs for sale, so the 'dirty' ones are saved for me to eat and washed before using, sometimes those pile up so I wash, boil, and chop up shells and all for the birds. You can't imagine now but down the road you might get tired of eating eggs.

I think maybe there's a correlation - i would have to really study to be sure, but makes metaphysical sense to me . and physical sense. the nutrients in the eggs signal their bodies to make more? who knows

I dont think this family will ever tired of eggs. I just hope they are good layers.

i only have 7 hens and i get 12 eggs occassionally.... how does that happen? I check daily

but seriously I get more than 1 egg a day from my hens often (polish hens and d'Uccle bantams - i don't see the ameraucana larger eggs double). maybe it's what I feed them. Lots of organic greens, cilantro, shiitake, cabbage, brocolli, all types of organic veggies (i blend this up and add seeds like wheat berries,pumpkin, sesame, others) and berries occasionally (they love blueberries the best), expensive feed (whole grains and nutrients) . maybe this causes them to lay more than 1 often? it's their 1st year laying also

I have several serama chickens with my flock of standards. I generally don’t use or share the tiny eggs....I collect them then weekly, hard boil them, crush them & feed them to my flock.

I swear it is.... the dozen in one day has happened twice, from 7 hens, and consistently i get 6-8 daily now . I think i have a post about this somewhere else on here

hey and sorry i have 8 hens... cant count either, but I had 12 eggs from them last week in the coop and i check it daily at 5pm ., this happened twice since jan
