What does running up and sitting down mean?

My son's little Charlotte that he rescued has started an interesting behavior but since I don't speak good chicken yet I don't know what it means.
When she hears her name she runs up to you and sits down or kind of squats. If she's on the other side of the yard when they are out and you call her name she looks so funny running to you. Then she will suddenly squat down and look up at you.
She likes to be carried under your jacket too, she's a snuggler.
She's making an odd cooing/deep clucking noise at times too.

Is she squatting down and tapping her little feet? If so, she may be getting ready to lay eggs in the really near future. Sounds very friendly and loving, how lucky for your son!!

I haven't noticed any foot tapping, she just sits. I'll check her feet though,,, but isn't she too young to lay or mate? I'm trying to remember when he got her, it was January I think... I'll check my posts.
